Squash is a sport that everyone can enjoy because it has many health advantages and can be played year-round, in all types of weather, and by players of any skill level.
A player can use more energy in squash than in most other sports. Improved cardiovascular health is a benefit of squash. You can build strength and fitness by running, leaping, and diving for the ball during squash, and it also helps to keep a healthy weight.
Squash also has several other advantages, such as enhanced overall and psychological well-being, increased self-confidence and self-esteem, more vital social skills and the chance to meet new friends, improved focus, and all-weather activity since it is an indoor sport.
Our Guest Speaker Ms. JANET VIDHI would be shedding light on the sport (Squash) during this interactive session with the children and the celebrity show host Mrs. NIDHI KUMAR.
About the Guest Speaker:
Janet Vidhi is a professional squash player from India. Janet won the title of ISP-Sprite All India Squash girls under 17 in 2009.
She played womens' Semifinals against Joshna Chinappa at the Senior Nationals in 2013. After studying from Air Force Bal Bharati School.
She finished her graduation from University of Delhi in 2015. She is Squash professional from 2014. She has been representing India on the world Squash Tour since 2014 and has played tournaments in several countries all over the world including – a semi-final finish at Simon Warder Memorial Squash Tournament in Sarnia, Canada in 2016, quarter final finish at the China Grand Prix 2017 in DaLian, China, quarter final finish at Singha Squash Thailand Open 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand, among others.
She is the ninth Woman in India to enter in Top 100 Ranking in the World & achieved Best World Ranking 88 as per the list issued by Professional Squash Association on 01st April 2017.
She bagged the prestigious "Young Achiever Sport" Indo-Asean Award in 2018 which she received from External Affairs Minister Sushma Swaraj.
According to Janet Vidhi "Taking up sport professionally is one of the most challenging professions in India. When I joined professional circuit, there were maximum of 5 women from India but in March 2020 we have more than 30 women actively competing in professional squash circuit. I feel blessed to be able to inspire young girls from India."
